teeth
At the moment I have a gap either side where my fangs should be due to a really fuckin stupid dentist when I was a kid.
I am wanting to have implants placed in the style of small, pointy vampire fangs. Not too extreme though, it's not like I'm likely to win a place acting in a vampire film. Anybody have any idea where I could get that done in the UK? Any help would be grand. Bye for now |
You should go ask a proper dentist or orthodontist about that. Ask around a few different practises in your area to find out if any of them do canine tooth replacements, or if they can guide you to someone who will. If you find one, just ask them if they're willing to give you ones that are slightly longer than normal - explain it's for aesthetic purposes.
|
Believe me, you're going to get tired of'em soon, because there's no way you can speak properly with those things. I talk out of experience.
|
i don't want actual vampire style teeth implants, just slightly pointier than the norm.
I live on the Isle of Man though and that makes it difficult to find most things that you seek, let alone new teeth. Did you have quite long pointy fangs implanted? |
Take a trip to the mainland. ;)

i dont know anyone good in the uk, but i agree with C130 you should ask around. i have 'pointy' teeth and it just takes time to get used to talking with them. you talk so long with 'normal' teeth that when you switch it is difficult for about a year or so.

BME has had articles about teeth modification - an as long as you aren't looking for anything too insane, and you are over 18 most dentists will file your teeth down or you while you are under a loval aneasthetic. Apparently it hurts about as much as drilling for getting a tooth filled does.
Just go to BME and do a search for dental mods. |
This is probally nothing of importance, and it probally won't do you any good.. but, I have a friend and he like, sharpened his teeth some, but he didn't do it for the whole "vampire" look.. He was just obbsessed with pointy teeth for some reason, and that when he ate his food, it was better, I guess... Then after a while, he noticed his teeth hurting real bad..
Then he had to get some sort of cap, because he sharpened them down too much. I still laugh at him today. ..I'm nice. |
Ha ha...i just think that the whole thing is far too permanent. What if you grow out of it?
I dont have a full set of adult teeth in my mouth, and its roughly the size of an average ten-year old's. And i'm scared to death of the dentist. |

I do not have a top, right canine tooth... there isn't any gap, though. I was born without one, for some odd reason. And...dentists love their scary instruments way too much. It's always scary, also, when you hear another patient yell out in pain, while the drill is on. ;} |
I scream, i bite, i kick. I have to take an entourage to the dentist to restrain me. I leave nail marks in the dentist's chair...I'm that afraid. And if i know I’m going to the dentist, i work myself up so badly i can hardly breathe. I start break down in the waiting room. They put pictures on the ceiling for me and make sure that i don’t have to wait for my appointment because i wig out.
It’s seriously debilitating. And embarassing. I have 18 holes in my body...and i cant handle a dentist... :( |
During the years I had braces, the dentist ended up pulling eight of my baby teeth at thirteen because they weren't falling out so the adult teeth could grow in. They took the canines too. Then, due to their infite wisdom, they discovered my adult canine teeth were laying flat, practically under my nose. Not poking through or anything, just there. They decided to remove them surgically, the doctors back went out in the middle of it, and he chipped the root of another tooth, causing it to need a root canal. So, no, I don't really care for the dentist either. I never had a problem as a kid, but the whole having to lay back and have someone messing with my head is disturbing. (Haircuts aren't as bad, but they are annoying for the same reasons)
The long and the short of it is I now have no canine teeth at all. I sort of have a complex about it now. Maybe that's why I've gone as a vampire for Halloween every year I've dressed for it since then. I want my pointy teeth back, dammit!! |
I am a smoker so.....
.... my teeth are gross.
Quit if you can or you'll be gross and stinky like me! |
well, cheers for the advice from all.
I would need some sort of implants anyway due to the gap situation, so I thought I may aswell go for something a little more me. As for Persophonex, it's okay telling me that I'll grow out of it, I don't know if you've noticed, but I happen to be the same age as you and having a gap either side of your mouth is also permanent if you fail to do anything about it, therefore I thought I'd opt for more pointy style teeth, yet not necessarily vampire teeth. I do have to travel to the mainland to get it done. I was only wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of somewhere in the UK that would be affordable and reputable. |
How permanent of an implant is it?
I'm not really familiar with the whole procedure. I think if you're staying subtle, you'll be pleased with a little bit of unique-ness in your smile. |

I think I'm probably the only person that actually wants to go to the dentist. I'm just weird like that.

Lord of the Fangs..

Scared shitless...
Immovable. |
I am blessed with straight teeth, and decent canines.
As for the sharper ones, be VERY careful, because if you're not explicit in exactly how you want it, it probably will end up how you DON'T want it. |
Canines eh. Maybe a crafty vet would be able to help out?
Dental work always costs a fortune, thats why I hate it. Anyway, I reckon gaps add character, and beauty. It's the imperfections that make people beautiful in my view. |
I thought at first that you was the lady I did a set of Vampire fangs for, she also had her eye - teeth missing, which made it a bit tricky to make any dental acrylic cap s to go over them - since there was nowt there.
Iv'e always found that Birmingham Dental Hospital is a pretty helpful place + since they train dentist there, none of them have had a chance to get into any bad habits + their work is constantly monitored by the tutors, If you like, since I live in Brum, I could make some enquireries on your behalf, or just post the contact details here, or both. Its really up to you, hope that this might be of some help to you though T.T.F.N. THE LEEWIT. |
i have almost straight teeth....but the ones near the canines are a bit outwards and my canines are really sharp it hurts like hell.....so i look like a vampire....well abit...but i am getting longer ones
