Thinking of going red again
I've been a redhead ever since I dyed my hair for the first time in grade 7. After my "manic panic" stage in which I ruined my hair with bleach I had to dye over all of the colors in my hair with black. Now I miss being a redhead again, or should I say I miss having burgandy kind of red hair.
I pretty much made up my mind but then again, I might be making a mistake. If anyone wants to talk me out of it and warn me that it will look horrible tell me. Also suggest some good hair dye brands that last long and have good red shades. |
Well, whats the color of your hall now all over? If its black, then you will have no choice but to bleach to see color, and that is not a good thing. im sure you know from your past experience, but bleach is in no way, shape, or form your friend. Stay away from it. I don't know what you look like, so i can't say if you look good with red hair or not though.
If your hair isn't black, have you considered going for a natural redhead look? Like, permanent haircolor? There are tons of brands out there like Clairol or Garnier that have red in it. If its burgendy you wish for, then you can have it the nondamaging way by using colorpulse. It comes in an orange package. Personally, I love the stuff. It only lasts for about a week, but it gives you the coolest color, isn't damaging, and it smells really good. Natural instincts also has a red haircolor, and tht lasts for about a month, and is less damaging than permanent haircolor. I have also read about Henna, which is supposed to give you amazing haircolor, and acctually strengthens your hair. If its dark, you'll get amazing highlights, if your hair is light, you get intense color. it varies for everyone. I suggest you do some research on it :D. It is permanent, but i heard you get great benefits. |
I love burgundy hair. DO IT.
I have to dye my hair, too. N'rage makes a good burgundy dye, but I'm pretty sure your hair is black, so you'd have to bleach it first because the dye doesn't have bleach in it. |
Well my hair is black but it's more of a faded black, maybe the first time I dye my hair I will have sort of a dark red look but the second time I think the red will sink in a bit more. Bleach is not an option for me.

I'll show you what it looks like ones I'm done

On this topic, is there a black hair dye that does not destroy hair? I used several different black dyes before and they all destroyed my hair, making it grow thin and fall out.

I've had my hair dyed all shades of red for many years. It's fun having that color, but it fades fast and you really have to dye it alot for it to look good. I am now too lazy to deal with red hair and finally dyed it all out. Boy red hair is really hard to get rid of! I say, do whatever pleases you. If you really want the red hair and have the time to keep up with maintaining it, go for it! It probably looks awsome on you.

Hmm... you should dye your hair! Red hair is awesome! (lol yes I am bias since i am a natural red head) But seriously if you really want to, then do so.
=) And I agree with Aude (If you want a natural dye), I have heard great things about Henna. It conditions and colors very well. It takes a few hours to get color, but it looks amazing! This red looks awesome and I think the original hair was brownish: http://www.echophrasia.org/wp-conten...ir_after02.jpg but yes...do whatever you like, I'm sure you'll get an awesome color. |
I'm thinking of going for something more red less orange
