Rant - Damn, I hate my job.

I've just come home from my first day at work. I'm working for a local newspaper which comes out once a week, and am delivering it to the houses in my area. I've been working since 12.30 and until now. It's been raining, my shoulders are cramped, my feet hurt, I'm totally exhausted from walking with this heavy burden (320 papers + separate ads) uphill and around the place for hours. It's tedious, excruciatingly boring and they only pay me 33 Euros for today. That's nothing, not for the effort I've made. It's my first time, and I already hate it. Next time there's probably going to be less ads included, which makes it easier, but, because I'm paid for the weight of the papers I'm distributing, will mean less money earned. I wish I could get a job that'd actually give me some value for the work I'm doing. Arrgh.

My sister was on the verge of nervous breakdown last week because her boss is tormenting her, she's incredibly stressed, and he's threatened her with physical violence more than once. However, she's shy, and doesn't want to hand in her resignation notice simply because she then has to work another week under "the tension".

You seem to have it pretty easy, in comparison. I'd love to do that job, as long as I could earn some cash.

That's what it's like: Until we're 18 we only get crap jobs.

I delivered papers daily for several years, but nothing on that scale, it was about 40 a day, and although the exercise did me good (I was biking several miles round a rural area) carry a bag full of the papers absolutely knackered my shoulder and strained some of my chest muscles to the point I couldn't breate without it hurting.
So make sure and not to strain anything, its not worth damaging yourself for such low pay.

And thats an odd way of paying someone.......

I'm a camp counselor for six and seven year olds during the summer. It's honestly not that bad; but the people with whom I work are pricks. I'm changing jobs next summer.

I'm a cashier. (shrugs) Eh. Pretty cushy job actually.

I wish I could sympathize. I love my job.
