im sure that all of you have noticed those names under your, well, names, like : babygoth, goth as fuck, mopeygoth, and such and such, well, i would realy like to know, exactly how do you change them? do they change over time, or depending on how many posts you hav? please explain

They change depending on how many posts you've done.

They are "ranks." You get to a certain number of posts, you go up in rank. As such, your user title changes.

There is another thread that someone posted about that. I think it is on another page of thread starts though...so.....yea.

They are ranks, but I am sure that you will see that most of the people here (or those who have been here awhile) don't really care for their rank. Mainly because gnet is a community that has become tightly knit; I know this because gnet and its members have become like a second family to me.

So, to personally add, I think the whole ranking system is reatarded, but useful.

I like the ranking system. But yes like they said it depends on the number of posts you have made.

Oh and by the way, you need to type with proper grammar and you need to check your spelling. Such as capitalizing, using full spelling of words, and proper punctuation.

Precisely. And again I stress that post count is not important.
The guy with the cool 'hawk above me (no not that way!) is just as familiar with everyone as I am.
There's a guy called Haunted that doesn't really show up in noticeable amounts of time and we still all like him.
And yet there are some like a guy a few months ago that posted like 500 times in a week and you couldn't say anyone cared about him.

But that's not to say having a Peter Murphy under your username isn't a matter of esteem, even if it's not the point of posting here. It's still pretty damn cool. *bows to Jillian*

Oh, I remember something else.
The most useful thing you'll find for those names is the words above it. Yours say 'i can see you'
But it's funny when they both say something; like mine says "Tastier than/ Peter Murphy"
You can write stuff like "OMG I fucked/ Andrew Eldritch"
Or "Fear the/ Babygoth"
Or "Fuck me I'm/ Goth as Fuck"
Or "Mope mope mope I'm / Mopeygoth"

And stuff like that.

The only way to go up in ranks is by posting more, but as Jilian said, posting does not mean that people care about you. I am thinking of what to put above my rank right now, but nothing comes to mind. But if Jilian allows it, I will steal his idea :)

If anything postcount doesn't count for much other than the rank seeing as there are people who have been here for less time than me but are higher ranking.
