Ear worms

If you're like me, you've constantly got a song buzzing around in your head; an ear worm. So, which song has taken over your mind?

For me, right now it's the Beer Song - I sure you've heard it. It's rather simple, and very repetitive... "One hundred bottles of beer in a bar, one hundred bottles of beer, and we take one out and we pass it 'round, and there's 99 bottles of beer. 99 bottles of beer in a bar," etc ad nauseam....

Cyntrox 07-02-2007 02:23 PM

I have heard another version...

99 bottles of beer on a wall,
99 bottles on a wall
if one of those bottles should happen to fall
there'd be 98 bottles of beer on a wall

I have it on mp3 :D

I am eternally greatful to Minilayel for starting this thread. "Digital" by Joy Division has been my earworm.

Minyaliel 07-02-2007 02:32 PM

Oh gods, has it been recorded? Is it *whisperpossibletodownloaditsomwherewhisper*?

Vyvian Blackthorne 07-02-2007 02:45 PM

Goth Rock gem by the lovely Fiends, the live verison of 'RIP (Blue Crumb Truck)'-Mainly the beginning drum solo. And I am grateful as well. I really think someone should cover that song. And the live verison sounds more goth and deathrock then the album verison, which relies on the techno/drum machine work. Not too big of a fan of that. But ASF is an execption.

I just went to Dr. Steel's myspace page the other day, and now I've had "Back and Forth" stuck in my head.

Who were you talking to?

dreamydancer 07-02-2007 10:18 PM

I have "Hollow Eyes" by Red Lorry Yellow Lorry stuck in my cranium. They're a semi-crappy band but I like them anyway.

Tismine 07-02-2007 10:23 PM

Lux Aeturna.

I don't know why.

It's not an actual song, but this line from South Park, "La La La La Lala La Ha Ha Ha Ha Haha Ha Na Na Na Na Na" has been playing repetitively in my head for about three months.

Right now though the song "This Monkey's gone to Heaven" by the Pixies is stuck in my head:)

Sorry to sound like an advertiser, but ANY song is available to download for free at http://www.slsknet.org , using its little program. I love it!

For me right now, it would be "Bleeding In my Arms" by Frank the Baptist. Yesterday it was a bunch of Fields of the Nephilim songs. I severely kicked myself for not listening to them sooner. >,..,<

psyches_reflection 07-03-2007 12:35 PM

That Scissor Sisters song, "I Can't Decide". I blame the Doctor Who season finale.

I normally have terribly naff songs that they play in work stuck in my head. Endless Westlife and Phil Collins... *shivers*

You know, I've actually downloaded that program now, probably as a result of its constant mention.

... I really like it. Thanks for letting me know about it ^^

Do you mean to say you've never listened to them before? How shameful!! :D

My first listen to "Moonchild" was simply orgasmic.

Erhm. Tell you what, I know someone who has it. I don't have it anymore, but I'll try to get hold of it, then I can send it to you.

Soulseek should start paying my ass.

Minyaliel 07-04-2007 12:21 PM

Cyntrox - that'd be great. =)

My current earworm, quite apart from said song which still buzzes around up there is a little phrase from a Siouxsie & the Banshees song which runs "slide up the banister... take the escalator" etc (or so I think; not quite sure).

BLEED REBELION!!! 07-04-2007 01:02 PM

Eminem- bad influence

Crying_Crimson_Tears 07-04-2007 05:26 PM

I seem to have "And We All Return to Our Roots" by The Forecast.

Very awesome song.

Draconysius 07-04-2007 05:32 PM

Sleep's cover of "Snowblind", originally by Black Sabbath. It's bad enough I heard the original version minutes before this one. T,..,T
