Shirts...

...I'm looking for mens shirts, that'll go up to a reasonable size. I've so far found very few sites selling anything interesting. Mostly it's just cyber-gear and (very) generic poet shirts. If anyone knows of any sites selling unusual items I'd be extreemely grateful.

Time to DIY, man.

What are you looking for? Unusual is too broad.

Yes, what are you thinking of specifically? You looking for something classical, smart or punky?

Bete Noire 09-03-2007 08:10 AM

I already DIY:D A lot, but I wanted to find some stuff with more of a trad type feel to it, rather than punk.

I know that you *can* DIY that sort of stuff, but my "skills" lie in ripping stuff up and painting the patches myself. I am hideous at sewing, even with a machine, so premade stuff would be useful.

KontanKarite 09-03-2007 08:12 AM

Traditional feel?

Now I'm really confused.

Do you mean like business suits and dress shirts?

Good goth ;) Well, may I suggest getting These for refrences. As for sites, I wish I had some links :/

But the pre-torn DiY stuff is hard to get a hold of, I heard. *sigh*

I usually sew my own shirts since these men's cloting stores never have my size or color I want. I recently sewed a shirt made of satin w/cotton backing and it's very comfortable. I can wear this one as an elegant or cyber wear and it looks good no matter what. I'm just waiting for my boss to get my pinstripe shirting fabric that I ordered (black with grey pinstripes).

Black shirts with stripes actually look good for all occasions.

Yeah I'm looking for something between the uber-rippedness of the hon. Mr Slut, and more dress shirt(ish) type things.

Although having had a massive internet search today, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that they dont exist.

My solution to this problem is usually to go to a good menswear store, find a good shirt in a cut and fabric I like--usually pinstripes or such--and then add touches like silver buttons. It usually ends up both cheaper and prettier than internet-bought things, and you don't take a chance on the quality.

Bete Noire 09-04-2007 01:43 AM

That's pretty much the conclusion I'd come to.
Anyway thanks for all the help:)
