Halloween!!!

So, what are you doing for Halloween? If you are dressing up (other than your everyday attire), what will you be?

Halloween is my favorite holiday. <3
I'm throwing a "Halloween Bash & Scary Move Marathon Night".
I haven't figured out my costume yet. Any ideas?
I'm a 24-year-old female. Nothing too slutty plz. ;)

thedoll 09-17-2007 11:14 AM

My friends and I are going as colors. Were dying our hair and wearing crazy outfts then going out to the Castro (in San Francisco) and having a night of debauchery

delicti 09-17-2007 11:15 AM

Usually I pick a news topic and dress as the most offensive thing I can find - keeps people on their toes. This year I'll be at a Masquerade ball - in Prague, so chances are slim of me wearing anything other than traditional Masquerade wear. But I'll be in Prague, so who cares?! :-D

honeythorn 09-17-2007 11:23 AM

Oh! How unfair :( I have ALWAYS wanted to attend a masqerade ball :/ It's watching Labyrinth too much that did it :p

I don't do anything on the social side for Halloween . I just have to stay at home and discourage trick or treaters from knocking the door. Bear in mind these trick or treaters are invariably 13 year old ( and even older ) chavs who's idea of scary costume is to get a shitty cheap frankenstein mask from the pound shop, and wear their usual tracksuit and rockports combo, plus the obligatory cap. I plan to open the door with major weaponry in hand this year

Azaezl 09-17-2007 11:39 AM

I'm not sure what I'm doing this year. Celebrating obviously as it'll be my 3rd wedding anniversary, prob just have a filthy night in ;)

We've only ever had trick or treaters once, so I'm hoping they'll steer clear again this year, if not the dog will happily see them off.

Lapin 09-17-2007 11:47 AM

HALLOWEEN!!!! (Spins around in a circle) I love Halloween to the Nth degree! I'm making my costume this year, but I'm just coping the scary-expensive Ren. Fest dresses, so it's not very creative...but still!

Halloween is candy apples and Jack-o-Lanterns and fun movies and bats and costumes and scary things, and happiness! (Spins again) I can't wait!

(Humming Halloween songs)

Breathless Horror 09-17-2007 01:05 PM

Me and my friends are planning as dressing up as muppets. Specifically the ones from the "Mahna Mahna" song. I'm going to be one of the creepy pink things! :P

ForgetThisLostLenore 09-17-2007 02:49 PM

Me and my friends are going as characters in Alice in Wonderland

MissGracie 09-17-2007 03:15 PM

.:sighs:.

Oh dear Hallow's Eve, how I love thee...

For Trick or Treating and the school dance I'm going as a ladybug. But since Halloween is falling on a Wednesday this year, I'm going to school as Morticia :p

We have the same hair .:beams proudly at everyone:.

Okay, okay. Mine happens to be brown...

Nevertheless, I am hoping to do something more exciting this year, but seeing as I am only 16, living in Vermont, and lacking in means of transportation, I don't see this happening .: pouts:.

My ladybug costume consists of a bright, red dress my grandmother got me for dress up :p wings and antenna (like the cheapy ones the little kids get, lol) my platform boots, black tights, and long velvet gloves. I'm going to make my Morticia dress :D and dye my hair temporarily black. Maybe if I really like it I'll keep it that way.

ForgetThisLostLenore 09-17-2007 03:53 PM

I'd love to be Morticia, but I'd have to get a wig, and oh, how I hate wearing wigs. Also, so many people are Addams family members. But my hair is blonde, so I automatically got Alice. I was going to be a corpse bride if I had enough money.

Memento Mori 09-17-2007 04:07 PM

Halloween is also my favorite holiday.
I think I'm going to dress as a Mundane.

You should be a dark fairy who just crawled out of her grave.

Ishkabibble 09-17-2007 04:48 PM

I really have no idea if I might even dress up for this Halloween. The only store that sold costumes closed down over here. And I don't think I'm allowed to order from the internet again.
Sooo.. I think I'll just have to use last year's costume. Weird as it may sound, I dressed up as candy corn with some friends. Well, it that or making my own costume. Though I lack of experience with needles and thread.
:(

ForgetThisLostLenore 09-17-2007 04:51 PM

I get to dress up if i have a party, or somewhere to go. And luckily I found reasons every year since that rule. But Halloween has always been my favorite holiday.

Graveyard.Crow 09-17-2007 05:22 PM

I'm either a nurse of a cheerleader
all pink and hopefully a blond wig if I can borrow one from a friend
Now THAT'S scary

HumanePain 09-17-2007 05:48 PM

I spent over $100 last year for my Dracula outfit, then got sent to a customer site in Hartford Connecticut to troubleshoot software at the last minute! ARGH! So THIS year I am wearing my outfit! To work! I will definitely upload pictures! :D

kwaniesiam 09-17-2007 05:53 PM

I take full advantage all month long to overdress given the circumstance :D

I'm going as Mary Magdelene (I get called that from the long red hair a lot...), and my friend is going as Jesus. Kind of silly since I'm pagan.

Graveyard.Crow 09-17-2007 05:56 PM

Shit
That's a better Idea
I'm pagan too
I SHOULD BE VIRGIN MARY
and have a sign that says "I'm virgin mary, that's my story and I'm sticking to it" ONLY I would get kicked out of school. Also it could be a little mean and taken the wrong way.

Maybe you could rewrite the sign "I'm a married virgin!"
You know, promoting abstinence and all that? They can't disapprove of THAT now can they?
;)

Graveyard.Crow 09-17-2007 05:59 PM

I honestly wouldn't mean it to be cruel fun, I'm not a Christian hating pagan.

Oh man but I was really looking forward to the Family Guy reference.

Underwater Ophelia 09-17-2007 06:20 PM

My beau and I might go as Marilyn Monroe and JFK.

ForgetThisLostLenore 09-17-2007 06:54 PM

I have to knock my boyfriend out and drag him along the sidewalk to get him to participate in any Halloween activities.

d.Nox 09-17-2007 07:17 PM

I don't have anywhere to go, but I will dress up anyway! ...In a pinstripe suit with my new gasmask. Because when else am I going to wear it?

MollyMac 09-17-2007 07:28 PM

I am going to chill at home with my hubby, watch slasher flicks and let the neighbor kids make out like bandits from our candy stash. We only get maybe 4 trick-or-treaters a year. Total bummer. I understand though, it just sucks that kids can't even enjoy this day pf sugary quasi-historic bliss.

For Samhain, my girls and I are getting together for a meditative fire ritual

I'm not sure what I'm doing for Samhain, if anything. I might light a bonfire or something.....
