Should men wear stripy stockings?
 

Personally, I feel the answer to this is -yes-.
I don't see why the lovely ladies should have all the fun. And as demonstrated here, it can look very kewl and most fetching.
On an unrelated note, aren't those the best things you've ever seen? ><

But yes, do men just look silly with stockings on? Or are we on the very verge of a brand spanking new fashion trend?
I'll be keeping my eyes on the fashion mags.

I think if you look good in stockings, it doesn't matter what kind they are, and you should wear them if you like.

I've seen tons of men pull hosiery off... even striped stockings.

I say, who cares? Do it. They make those legs look HOT.

The world needs more men in tights and stripy socks full stop. More fishnets on legs! get em out lads!

My personal rule is that men, especially feminine men, can wear anything that girls can wear. Tights included.

Do clothes really have to have a gender? I say go for it! I only wish my guy would wear tights...Maybe one day...:)

I am blown away by this whole line. That girl has serious style, and can put together looks for guys including stockings, lace, and platform boots that are both sexy AND masculine. I am dying to find more of what she does! She has talent as well as skill. If I were a guy looking for goth/victorian clothing inspiration I would be clapping hands and giggling/cackling hysterically (not that that would be typical masculine behavior, lol) As it is I want to run down to the garage ( currently the place for the sewing machine as well as the auto tools, drafting table and easel) and start madly flinging bits of fabric, leather and lace together! The coats alone are amazing! I SO want one now!

I love that film so very much.
I know I really shouldn't worry, and that if I like them I should damn the torpedoes and do it!
But I feel if perhaps i've crossed the threshold of some social taboo. The good folk here are nice and accepting enough, but the stockings do seem to conjour up rawcous laughter and cries of indignation. So I'm a little nervous.

Not that this will stop me wearing them, it seems I have some unconcious urge to make trouble for myself, and if it really did bother me that much, I wouldn't be Goth in the first place.

I say no. But then again, I find that striped stockings are ugly, no matter what gender wears them.

Men in tights? Look at Clive Webb from Gypsy 83. Especially on the dvd cover. Holy fucking shit. That's all I've got to say about it.

I love a man in tights, but am of the opinion that if those tights are sheer or fishnets, the man should shave.

One thing I'd point out, is that while striped stockings are gorgeous and fun, if your calves are on the thick side the stripes have the tendency to make your legs look fat. In this case fishnets or sheer, dark tights may be more flattering.

This is true. My calves are a little bit muscular and I look awkward in striped stockings. So be careful there, guys! :)
