Not allowed into restauraunt
 

I was in front of this restaurant in Victoria and some other goth/punk/scene boys were talking and asked if they could interview me for types of music. Apparently, their school project was to find opinions of music so I said, "Sure, why not?" We decided to go into the restaurant to get something to drink, but they wouldn't let us enter! Apparently, they didn't want "gang brawls" going on and "shady people" making a scene. That really ticked me off. But it also made me laugh.

Some people are biased. What can you do? I've had some situations where opinions were formed without reason other than my choice of clothing. It really gets funny when people walk up and ask you about your religion and tell you that you wear "Satan's Clothing". If so, Satan's got some damned good taste. :)

I guess Satan does! I've had that happened to me before, "Excuse me Ms.Goth Girl, are you into Satanism?" Me: "Oh yeah, totally! You gotta love Satan, woo!" *rolls eyes* I'm an atheist.

FINALLY someone else knows this! Satanism is about embracing Earthly pleasures and things known as sins to other religions. THANK YOU! (I'm not one, btw)

Misanthropic Luciferian Order = Pseudo-misanthropists who pretend that they hate the weak, but never actually get rid of the weak like the scripture says. Also spout nonsense about anti-cosmic dragons, and the atom equations of chaos. Star Trek fans with attitude. Avoid.

Non-Organised Satanism = Embracing freedom. Yay!

Hell man, I think we're all a bit late for some kind of mythological experience to go down. I'm game for anything these days. Though I think Ragnarok would be just the cat's pajamas in regards to anything catastrophically divine.

Response Original Post: Sucks that people can't look past the clothes and sometimes skin of others. When they do go all "Sorry, we can't let you in", they're just costing themselves out of a customer with that kind of BS. It's good that you don't make a scene, and let them stew in their foolishness.

Response to Religious post: I'm Episcopalian, but I haven't been to church in about four or five years because I've begun to see that organizations are a load of croc. I have faith and for me that's good enough. But I don't agree with forcing my own beliefs down other people's throats. The Bible's all about tolerance baby. That's what most forget.

As long as they're not gay-bashing fundies, I'm okay with Christians. I've had bad experiences with some, but I'm glad you see through all the crap, spoonie.

In any case. I don't know what the laws are in Victoria, but I would've been most displeased to receive an insult like that in Tacoma. Some people make the most annoying assumptions.
Although I have to wonder just who it was accompanying you, and based on your description, wonder if maybe they were dressed so appallingly that it might have been a service, denying you entry.

I have several Christian friends. Why are these Christians my friends and not some others I have encountered? Because they accept me and don't force their beliefs on me. I respect their religious views and they respect mine.

I hold what I considered 'Christian' beliefs, but have no need for the 'Church' as a patriarchal insitution.

I know people who are the same way. Most of my Christian friends don't follow every word the Bible says or that preachers say to them. They follow/practice their religion in a way that works for them. I think it's great!!

I've said that I would bring back an attorney and discuss the act of prejudice (or discrimination) to a number of places before. The looks on their faces were priceless (almost like they shit themsleves). See, we're not that stupid like they think we are. That's what I call "constructive approach".


A few times at a Starbucks I go to every work day, I usually like to sit, have my coffee and read my book for an hour before going to work. I've had some yuppie customers there telling me to leave because of my looks and "I don't fit in". I basically told them that was harassment, so the Starbucks manager booted them out and not me. That's what I call respect.

Wow, that IS respect. It is harrasement, but I still wouldn't telll is customers did that to me. Back when I was around 6, I asked a goth why they dresse dlike a "freak". Then 5 years later, I started to dress like it. lol.

I don't see why people feel that others are different because of what they wear. That is just ignorant.

I'm 15, but I started dressing goth-ish at age 11. I don't think that any more, obviously, but at age 6-8 I sure did. I stopped at 9 when my fave babysitter turned out to be goth, cyber style.

15, you say...I'm only about a year older than you. I hate it (being naive and foolish, that is).

Anyways, back on topic: I've never had this sort of problem. Once, though, at a Chinese place I got the best seat because they said my friend and I looked 'cute'. Quite the opposite, huh?

QUITE the opposite! Atcually, that's kinda sweet that someone would say that you looked "cute". My Mom called me cute a LOT and it bothers me but I'm glad that she doesn't think I'm a freak like my friend's Mom does. My Dad doesn't really like me dressing goth, but he loves me all the same.

Seriously? Someone asked you that? What idiots. But maybe Gothic DID become a god and no one told you, or me, or any other Goth...or maybe not. That person is crazy. Even non-goths know that Gothic is not a god! There is no goth god. Is Satan a god? (I thought he was a devil) I know some goths worship him, not me, but my cousin Andrea does.
