My trial came to a verdict....
on Halloween.
And it was so fucking stupid, too. Here's what happened... I was on the prosecution team, as a witness. My attorneys and I were working for weeks to find the perfect facts, evidence and testimony to use against the Defense (who did NOT belong in this class). Anyway, the defense didn’t know shit of their fact statement, and their opening and closing statements were weak (not to mention we couldn’t hear what the hell they were saying and they used notes or even tried to do what they call “Free Style), and they only objected twice, just in a stubborn attempt to try to stop us from proving them guilty. One of my attorneys was leading the defense witness so much, all he could say was “Yes”, or “I don’t recall”. Heh, they all sucked ass. When it came to the verdict, it was a fucking Deathlock (tie, if you will). I was even preparing a speech for the entire courtroom right there and then, but it would have cost me my place in that school and me reputation, so I held back. The jury was stupid, and when I asked one of the jurors why it resulted how it did, he said “Because you were aggressive, and we had 3 for guilty, and 3 for not guilty.” Oh…my…fucking…god….what the fuck did they do? They went in for two minutes and came out with an “Undecided” verdict. It wasn’t fair at all. We weren’t “Badgering” or “Repetitious”, we were leading!!! The jury doesn’t know what the fuck they’re saying. Anyhow, I’d like to conclude by saying that my team did not work our asses bloody just for a fucking tie….thank you very much…..heh….that felt good…. |
i gather you are either a lawyer or in law school.
p.s. should you be talking about this case??? |
There are copies of the tape, maybe I'll get one and post it on another site..

Well... I remember doing a case with a law class of mine back in high school .... It was a murder case, their was all sorts of evidence pinning it on my client *I was defense* and I was able to convince not only the jury *Which was made up of social studies/ law teahers*, but also the judge and even the prosecuter *Though she wouldn't admit it in court* that my psychotic client was innocent without a doubt.
So we got our verdict: not guilty. After he told use our verdict, he gave us the verdict of the REAL case *seeing this was based off a real case* poor sonuva bitch got Murder 1 and no chance for parol. I love law. |
I love it too, and that is why I posted this. Because there are so many worthless people in that class and only a handful who do their job how it needs to be done. My group was one of those, and we worked hard, but as you've read, it was a Deathlock.
I can't say I wasn't proud, and that's because we were the ONLY group to even come close to winning for the prosecution, and it was a murder case, too. We get a chance against another group, however, and they have no questions or testimony to use against us, so I'm completely confident we will do better this time. I am only a freshman, too. So our teachers are so proud of us, and we will keep it up.... PS- I love law as well, and that's why I posted this. I hate those damn jurors, and one was even stupid enough to volunteer a second time....heads will roll if he gets his wish... |
