Can gothic girls be femenine?

And I don't mean by femenine wearing pink all the time or being girly as hell. Because, everyone thinks I'm rude, and not delicate.... and that's not true of course.

Methadrine 12-11-2007 08:46 AM

Yes, they certainly can.

Delkaetre 12-11-2007 08:54 AM

^ what he said.
Have a look at some trad goth girls- all flowing lace, delicate silk and narrow waists from corsetry. They *look* the epitome of feminine.
As for acting 'feminine' it depends on your definition. Do you mean aloof and elegant? Do you mean giggly and coquettish? Any mode of behaviour can be adopted.

What's usually good with goth girls that are feminine is that they also (usually) possess one heck of a self esteem. There is something quite special and attractive about someone that act innocently, say for example the things above; giggly and coquettish, but damn well have both their feet firmly in the ground.

Example- Amaranth is a very, very Trad Goth. Everything about her screams that she would have an air of haughty indifference. Indeed, she often does. Then you have conversation with her, and realise that she's actually a very sensible woman who knows what's going on and has a sense of humour that'd make a sailor blush.

Yeah, I mean elegant and refined :)

Of course! I am extremely feminine, but I do not always have the time to do all the makeup, fix my hair all pretty, and put on a dressy outfit. To work I usually wear jeans and a shirt because I can just throw it on & go. I wear skirts a lot outside of work (and sometimes during if the weather is fine in the morning). I luuuurve pretty gothy jewelry, but I feel as if I have to have makeup and a skirt on to wear some of it b/c it's rather "fancy". I wear less fancy jewelry when I'm wearing jeans and a shirt. I think femininity isn't always in the way you dress, but the way you act and speak as well.

TopHaggardDoll 12-11-2007 10:04 AM

I am not feminine, atall. lol.

Yeah, I may wear velvet and lace, sometimes...but I drink beer with my legs open with the best of them. I can be really vulgar aswell, i'm terrible. That's my charm though...that's how I roll.

Rosie 12-11-2007 11:09 AM

Err, goth girls are much more feminine than non-goth girls generally.

Girls today look fucking horrible. You either have too choices, skank, or tomboy with a fetish for grey hoodies.

honeythorn 12-11-2007 11:17 AM

I would like to think I have become more feminine with age? A few years ago I was allergic to skirts! Now I have 3! Wow. I love lace, velvet ect in clothing .

As for feminine behaviour?....I am not sure. I think it depends who I am with/talking to.If I am coarse I try to be tactful about it. I hope :p

Are you implying that males can't be elegant and refined? These are NOT feminine qualities.

Not at all, I mean can GOTHIC girls be elegant and refined....

KontanKarite 12-11-2007 12:35 PM

Depends on what you think gothic girls should be then. :-/

Noumi 12-11-2007 12:39 PM

In my country, gothic girls act like boys, they´re rude and grumpy :s (most of them). But I´m not like that , I´m kind :).

KontanKarite 12-11-2007 12:43 PM

Goth is pretty regional. Keep that in mind. :)

Linen 12-11-2007 01:24 PM

Oh, yeah, I guess the only unladylike thing about me is that I'm sarcastic and perverse, but only when in appropriate (or should I say inappropriate) company. I do have manners and tact, and I know when *not* to act a certain way. LOL.

a. a skank

b. someone who shoud probably be in a sorority

c. a guy

korinna5555 12-11-2007 05:29 PM

I am a major tomboy, but apparently have a sort of earthy femininity.. I am a sensual person.. a Taurus. :p

Opteron_Man 12-11-2007 05:45 PM

sure! why not? seriously.

Stormtrooper of Death 12-11-2007 06:04 PM

Hey I'm a Taurus too! Cool!

KontanKarite 12-11-2007 06:13 PM

So'm I. Let's start a club.

Sir Canvas Corpsey 12-11-2007 06:20 PM

Oh I'm also a Taurus...yippee *waves flag*

Least I can latch onto Kontan's back like some sort of hideous parasite or fungal growth *latches*

All that earthy natural sensuality was derived from us being born under Venus

Stormtrooper of Death 12-11-2007 06:22 PM

Here here! I'm really stubborn too.

Underwater Ophelia 12-11-2007 07:56 PM

I'm a Sagittarian.

Corpsey 12-12-2007 02:06 AM

I'm a goat, but we all know zodiacs are bull when it comes to describing personalities.

Except for Scorpio Dragons. All the ones I've met are wankerous bastards.

And yes, Gothic ladies can be uber girly, although I have yet to meet one in person, damn it all.
