Two Of My Girlfriend's Friends Died

She's going to the funeral today and I promised i'd talk to her about it when she got back, i'm really worried about her, she's been through alot lately and i'm afraid she might do something that might get her into trouble or hurt herself, the worst thing is that shes lives about 150 miles away from me.

Apathy's_Child 02-09-2008 05:00 AM

Ahhh, shit. Isn't there any way you can get down to see her?

Metabolik 02-09-2008 05:18 AM

I'm gonna go down to see her when my term school term ends. But I want to see her sooner. And I can't skip school because my attendence has gone to shit for some reason, I only had 3 days off and it went down to 86% >: (. Anyway if my attendence goes below 85% i'm gonna get screwed by the law.

stompyhank 02-09-2008 08:16 AM

Attendance has percentages?

Well, it sucks about your girlfriend. I hope she'll be okay..

ZyklonB 02-09-2008 08:22 AM

In England it does, apparently.

Even just being on the phone with her will help. Talk to her, let her cry and try not to feel helpless, you will be helping by just letting her know someone is listening to her cry at the other end of the phone line.

If you don't mind me asking, how did they die so young?

Metabolik 02-09-2008 10:11 AM

One of them got hit by a car and the other took an overdose of heroin.

stompyhank 02-09-2008 12:39 PM

That's very sad.. my good friend had a friend who died in a car crash recently as well, it was a shock to all of us.

HumanePain is right, just be there for her as much as you can.

Zerachiel 02-09-2008 11:27 PM

That is very sad, I'm very sorry. Agreed though, just talk to her on the phone.

Solumina 02-11-2008 09:52 AM

Let her talk and tell her that you will call her at *whatever is good for you* time instead of telling her that you are there if she needs to talk because if she is grieving then she may be too overwhelmed to do anything. Also if you get a chance mail her a care package that has some comforting things (chocolate, a stuffed animal that she can hug, anything that could make her feel better) and a hand written note telling her how much you care

I have an idea, not sure if anyone wants it, but I'd buy her a dozen white and pink roses. I think a bouquet of flowers would really cheer her up.

Metabolik 02-14-2008 09:36 AM

She says me talking to her is enough...that my company makes her happy and by company I mean talkin to her.

Solumina 02-14-2008 09:57 AM

It really is amazing how much good a phone call can do. Just continue to be there for her and remember that she may not seem like herself for a while
