Bleaching T-shirts
I've seen Bete Noire talking about bleaching t-shirts.. he also said that it turns out for him in a lovely gore color. I love that color. does anyone know the whole process?
I just get bleach, and slop/splatter it over the shirt, you can also paint designs with it if you want. It only turns gore coloured on some black shirts (presumably to do with the dye used.) Also, if you leave it for too long, it can go a little too orange.

How long should I leave the stuff over the shirt?
You can also draw designs on them with a bleach pen
Leave the bleach on until it's turned the colour you want. Depending on the dye in the fabric it can go anything from dark orangey red to light yellow. I find the thinner, stretchier cotton shirts tend to turn the dark red 'gore' colour you seem to be after. The thicker fabric used in the usual men's shirts often goes more yellow.
You can also try bleaching a pair of black jeans. Letting it drip and streak can have some nice effects. |
Awesome. Thank you.
Same goes for pants then, depending on the color and fabric? |
Indeed it does.
If you scrub it like a bitch just after applying the bleach, it ends up looking like rust.
Hmm.. is there such a combination of bleach and dye?
Dye doesn't hold too well to bleached fabric - the opposite of hair it would seem, haha.
Colour remover works better with fabric dyes. |
