Type O Negative
Type O Negative are they good are they bad you decide?
|
You're talking about some sort of blood, right?
|
Type O Negative is a band ok
|
Never heard of them
|
I've heard of the band but I haven't had a taste of their music yet!
|
Eh Haven't heard of them...I also thought you were talking about blood at first though...and I thought the poll was about the wasy it tastes, I was going to say something about all blood probably tasting the same...but then I read on. Anyway...

Type O Negative is a good band. They've had great songs and really bad songs. Many of their bad songs could have been good songs if they would have shortened them by an average of three minutes or perhaps sped the beat up to something more than 10 bpm. Either way the guy's got an awesome voice.
My favorite album is their newer "Life is Killing Me". I can actually listen to the whole thing. The albums before that I have to pick and choose tracks. Don't know if they've had anything new since... I'd go so far as to say that Type O is one of those basic necessary bands to add to any music collection for fans of the whole "gothy" genre. |
One word can describe Type O: crap.
|
i've only heard one of their songs and i love it,the song i speak of is: Bloody Kisses
would you like to name me some of your favourite/good songs by them? |
I don't want to be Me
Cinnamon Girl Christian woman Life is Kiling me Too late Frozen Everything Dies Be My Druidess My girlfriends girlfriend Some samples of their better songs in my opinion. Their earliest stuff... most of that is crap but they've really gotten better over the years. |
I really like Type O Negative. "Love You To Death" is one of my favorite songs.
|
I used to like Type O negative a lot before, but let's face it - it's kinda hard to listen to music that dreary for any extended period of time. I totally agree with Manimal, they have great songs and bad songs, some of which could be remedied by just what he suggested. I mean, come on, Type O - just because you happen onto a cool funereal-paced, depressive metal-groove doesn't mean you have to drag it out for five minutes while piling up the synth-organs to dramatic effect...
But that's some of what makes Type O, I guess. I actually like the World Coming Down album a lot, and also Bloody Kisses, although that's a lot more uneven. So, pretty cool band, but with a formula for making music that doesn't make for a whole lot of potential for growth and variety. And too depressing for everyday listening. Although I do find it funny that Peter Steele talks about suicide in such a frank manner in interviews. Not really ha-ha-funny, but it's quite... unique, for an artist to do that. I'm sure his humour is as black as the lungs of a middle-aged 60-a-day smoker, though. |
from the bloody kisses album...
http://members.aol.com/Vampskisss/altar2.jpg type o are the constant musical backdrop to my days. world coming down is an amazing album. http://image.myzon.com/IMAGES/MUSIC/...POP/224481.JPG |
If there's anyone HARD enough to have Type O as the "constant musical backdrop" to their days, it's you, edible eye.
I mean that as a compliment. And possibly a sexual double entendre... :D |
Type O Negative
I think this band is fantastic, I remember seeing them on MTV back in the early `90s and being hooked . My favourite album has to be `Bloody Kisses` as most of my favourite tracks are on this album !!!. I was wondering if anyone has seen the classic silent film `Nosferatu` with Type O Negative`s music as the soundtrack ?. I read a review for it on www.badmovies.org and this is what they said. `This version is remastered and includes the most enjoyable soundtrack I've seen it put to yet. Type O Negative's metal/gothic songs rarely seem out of place and then only for moments. The film itself is a masterpiece, with a tidy plot and excellent makeup for Nosferatu. ` |
I really liked their album "October Rust".
|
Black Number One totally gets me moist.
Few more good tunes off the top of my head: 12 Black Rainbows Christian Woman Burnt Flowers Fallen Drunk in Paris Red Water (Christmas Mourning) Pyretta Blaze Who Will Save the Sane? Xero Tolerance World Coming Down is an awesome album, Eye. But I think I will stick to one of the first albums I heard by them. Bloody Kisses. |

You never do know! But the lyrics are pure magic and also I do agree that Steele has a pretty wicked voice.

i don't think she was being sarcastic. i'm so straight i make a ruler look like a bow-tie and steele's vocals are sexy... and brutal and chock full of emotion.
cannibalnuns isn't the first girl i've heard of to get wet listening to the band, steele included. pitseleh - you funny. |
They are good.... they are not the best of the earth, but they make decent music...hehehe
