Sanctus, I feel that. It is so wrong. You can't smack her up literally, but if you'd like to give her a figurative "blow", I have an idea. Recently there have been several high-profile news stories about parents getting jail time for leaving their kids home alone. You want me to find 'em so you can print them and slip her a copy?
