I live further up the hill from the Mission District, in a another historically working-class neighbourhood called Bernal Heights. I love it here, despite the slow, steady trickle of what I call the undesirable element--Yuppies. I only stayed in the Tenderloin [T.L.] for 5 months. Can't say I liked it.

I didn't much like the tenderloin, I was just amused by it's inhabitance. Not a day went by that I walked through there without seeing something questionable. You ever run by that fella who stands at the corner of Geary and (I think) Star Street just before Van Ness? Last I saw he had a sign stating he was abducted by Aliens and required Food.. then he would proceed to chase the cars screaming obscenities because no one would pay attention. Scared the shit outta me a few times (especially when I walked home round midnight).

Worked "today" the overnight shift.. boring boring boring. I did find out that a current manager is re-enlisting in the army so his position may be mine. He finds out today... I'm half excited.
