As mentioned, we really don't have personal pet vets here. In Dublin, Limerick, and Cork maybe, but think of the rest of Ireland like rural parts of the state. Vets here do housecalls to deliver calves and horses.
They don't drive out to give yer cat a pill. In fact, taking a cat to the vet is pretty much unheard of.
However, like doctors and prescriptions, our laws aren't as strict as the states. The pet stores get the good stuff. This pill they gave me is in silver foil and was broke off a larger pack.
I can read:
ORM TABLET
etrinary Products, LTd.
PHEN BP 250mg
Next time I'm in Limerick I'll ask what it exact is, but yer man there that runs the place also runs a cattery (has fer years) and says he knows what hes doing.
I mean, here, if you need meds, you go to the local chemist. They give you stuff here that you only can get 'over-the-counter' in the states. Also, if it's something that needs to be injected, they hand ye a needle and the bottle and say 'there ye go'. If yer nto good at givin yerself a stick a nice chemist will help you out.
Different world here.
But cheers on that.
