I love music by "The Thompson Twins". It annoys me that so many of their CD's are out of print. I have "Big Trash" on CD (which is still available) and "Queer" on CD (which is not available) and "Here's To Future Days" on cassette (which I can't find on CD anywhere.) There are about 5 different greatest hits compilations that have been produced of varying quality, but the one that is available everywhere is the worst, with only 7-8 songs on it in extended length remixes.
I love "The Cure" and there's a butload of their CD's available. To me, "The Thompson Twins" sound like "The Cure" except with generally happier lyrics and without Robert Smith's angsty vocals. Listen to "Love Cats" or "Friday I'm In Love" and then compare to "Lay Your Hands On Me", "Hold Me Now" and "King For A Day". In fact, two members of the Thompson Twins live band ended up joining The Cure.
Okay, now I'm sure I've totally pissed off the Cure fans. How ungoth of me!
