When I was in school, we didn't have much trouble. We had a basic dress code; no cleavage, tight pants, spaghetti straps, shirts with cuss words, drug slogans, etc. Although my senior year, they actually had to make a rule saying that you weren't allowed to wear pajamas to school. But as for being Goth, I never had many problems. I would habitually wear spikes, eyeliner, nail polish, and a trenchcoat. My math teacher (an evil Republican bastard) make a remark about my eye makeup and a cafeteria monitor once told me I couldn't wear my trenchcoat because I might be hiding weapons under it (a la Tenchcoat Mafia?). I looked in the handbook and it said nothing about trenchcoats, so I mentally told her to go fuck herself.

One time I wore a black t-shirt that had a picture of a rooster and the word "Cocks" on it; the principal made me zip up my coat, but once I was away from him I unzipped it. That was total discrimination. The jocks and other "popular" people, girls included, were in habit that year of wearing black t-shirts that on the front had a picture of a tombstone with the word "Lightweight" on it and on the back the words "Did daddy raise a pussy?" but that was justified because there was a picture of a cat. As liberal as my school was in some ways, it was just as convervative in some of the worst ways.
