I would suggest pictures of troops on the streets, such as the FLQ crisis here in Québec in the seventies. Troops directing traffic, breaking up protests and strikes, the Kent massacre, and police checkpoints for supposed, seatbelt checks...
If you look up alex jones on youtube, you can find a lot of that imagery. The guy's a nut, but the images are gold.
