Hah! FF7? No way. Sephiroth was a total candyass, and Cloud Strife's hair looks like it should be in a natural history museum's "Stalactite" display.

Anyone remember Arcanum? THAT is the king of gothy RPGs. It's drenched in atmosphere; The game is permeated by a late Victorian/Edwardian style. There's swords and sorcery, for the fantasy buffs, and that strange, pseudo-Victorian Sci-Fi technology so prevalent in the works of H.G. Wells and Jules Verne for all you rivethead types. You can even make steam powered armor! My personal favorite was blasting the Mage types with an elephant rifle, but to each their own.

Even the menu screen flies its colors. It has a skull, jeweled dagger, and poisonous spider on one side, and a Victorian-esque pendulum clock and revolver on the other. The music is string instrumental, for Christ's sake.

Let's be reasonable here, and all agree with me.
