I read 2 books by Charlaine Harris.

Trashy novels, I know... but they are FUN.

Dead Until Dark and Living Dead In Dallas.

They are part of a series by Charlaine Harris about some blond bimbo redneck girl in Louisiana who is telepathic. Her boy-toy is a vampire and her boss is a shape-shifter. It goes on from there.
