I never said they should get off without charges. I just don't think a 17 year old should be sitting in jail charged with attempted murder over a schoolyard fight that only resulted in a few hours in the hospital and no long-term damage. Should they be punished for it?
Yes. Should their lives be over because of it? I don't think so.
