In many of the major beaches in Florida and Virginia they have now banned 'thong' bikinis and also have given police the power to arrest and imprison women who wear swimwear that is deemed 'too revealing'. They aren't killing them off or sentencing them to death, but the message is still the same.
Is that really any better?

Funny you should mention that. In black and white terms, they're both oppression and I agree that oppression is oppression. But here's the rub. So far as we have it, we can choose the lesser of two evils if we want to play nice with the "law". Let's see... being fined for showing off a fine ass in public.. being KILLED for showing off your bare neck in public? Hmmmm....
