I like Burton, regardless. The problem is, Burton and Depp are such good friends, I don't think he pushed Depp as hard as he should have in this movie. Depp was good, don't get me wrong, but I think he could have been better.
Carter stole the show, as far as I'm concerned. She caught my eye in every scene she was in, and her costumes were done well. The designer knew what they were doing, and put her in clothes that had good color and were shaped to her frame. She has a very soft, whispy voice, so her singing could have been better, but I liked her.
As for the very fake blood, done on purpose, I still covered my eyes. I'm too squeamish, even for that. Especially when he shoved her in the oven. It was just messed up.
