I'm terrible at theory on both though....because I'm crap at maths...and anything like that drives me insane. So I just go with "these notes sound good together and these ones don't". I've basically cheated my way through music.

To me, playing music is all about whatever sounds good to you. Chordal theory isn't all that hard and it just helps you find other sounds that might/might not sound good to you.
