If you see something you like, and you can comfortably spend the cash on it, you aren't hurting anyone. Don't worry yourself over the label.
At one time, I really liked some things I found on x-tra-x.de, not sure if there's anything there you might find interesting.
Good luck with the domestic situation. There's a fine line between joking in poor taste and being an ass. Hopefully it is the former.
