Thats really bothering. In Ireland and the UK both governments are building massive off-shore wind farms which will provide 20% of the nations power by 2020. Its 100% clean and never ending.

Scotland is building wave powered generators to provide power. Iceland as of 2007 has 100% of its power provided from green renewable sources - mostly wave, mixed with solar and wind. Thats a whole country the size of many American states with a population also the equal to that of many states that is 100% green and not using ANY fossil fuels to power their homes or businesses. Yet, you never hear anyone in America talk about this accomplishment.

With all that desert out in Nevada and New Mexico, you would think America would build massive solar/wind farms and be able to provide all the power they need, infinitely, without any issue, yet they have yet to really create such industries. I know there are a few, but the reality is that 99% of the land that is perfect for that is just sitting unused and undeveloped while companies fight for oil rights.

If one billionaire moved in an bought up all the desert land to create such a project, well, he would probably be able to match Bill Gates in bank figures a few years down the road.
