teach yourself or be taught?

Is an antist an artist who taught themselves to paint or were they taught? Does it not count when they do not learn for themselves?

Is their soul any less dark or colorful because someone else helped them learn to release their soul for everyone to see?

The difference of being born a gay or a liberal or a republican or a goth or an artist or a prep or a stoner has nothing to do with how long it took you to become what you are. It has everything to do with what you've discovered while discovering what you are. You can be a goth your entire life and dress in orange and green and yellow the whole time. It is in your head not on your body... that's what everyone seems to believe.

I have in my mind a certain mindset that I am an artist and I am a goth. Goth isn't black clothing and heavy makeup (ofcourse that is fun) and an artist is not strippy shirts and heavy earings (again, sometimes fun) it is all my personality and what I don't let people see of my personality.

Popular myth: All goths have suicide or have had suicide on their minds.

.... not necessarily ...

p.s. it seems people have made cutting into a fad
