They would develop the technology sufficiently to find a way around the erasing before they put it on the market, if they haven't done so already.
And it's not the injury issue that they're really concerned about. It's the fact that even if you have wireless internet and wireless everything else, you still need wires to recharge your batteries, and this technology would eliminate that and make things completely wireless. The other advantage would be that you could plunk your lamps and stuff *anywhere* and not have to worry about cords for children to trip over and bunnies to eat.
