Today we signed that last papers to finalize the adoption. I know I did the right thing for my daughter and I'll still get to see her all the time, but she's still my baby! Even Max, my boyfriend, was in tears for a bit. The poor guy has major abandonment issues after his dad dropped him with his grandma at age four. He feels like he's doing the same thing and there's very little I can do for him but be there and it kills me to see him like this. It's even harder when we both know we're doing the right thing, but we don't want to lose our daughter.
