Thanks, I've been looking for online stuff and things don't seem as bad as I was afraid they might. Until this happened, I only fuzzily knew of type 2 as the "bad" type which can make you end up losing a foot. She'll be okay and knows dialysis isn't in the immediate (or even possibly near) future, she's just worried about spending half her life at the hospital in years to come when she should be worried about ManBearPig.
