I can't paint or do charcoal drawings or realistic portraits for shit, but I'm better at comic-style drawing than anyone I ever encountered who wasn't famous for it. This is simply because I'm lucky enough have a job in a fairly quiet environment, which gives me a lot of time to waste, and drawing comics is one of the ways in which I amuse myself. While the intelligence to create profound works of art isn't something everyone can achieve, the technique itself is - it's utterly unlike writing in that way. (I'm talking here about sketching, since that's what you've posted - not more difficult mediums, which I know jack shit about.)
