Big shit. Every topic attracts its share of stupid scholarship. Any theologian who actually believes that the Old Testament and early Jewish texts incorporate no polytheistic undercurrents is scarce respected, except perhaps for his or her skillful self-delusion.
I'm hoping my feeling is wrong and this post isn't intended to be impressive, because I doubt anyone who so much as googled the Old Testament, much less went to half a day of Hebrew School, would find it anything but redundant.
