If you're wide side to side through the hips ( as in a pear shape, broader at the bottom than the top ) then no amount of dieting in the world will get rid of that as it's quite likely to be genetic. But toning up and getting fit shouldn't be to difficult really. If it's your legs and arms then maybe try a crosstrainer? That works both at the same time .
I need to throw more cardio at my routine in the gym. I'm actually quite toned and have probably more muscle mass than a woman my age should, but that's partly to do with my job so some of that I can't help really, and being physically strong is useful. But all the toned bits are covered in a layer of fat (espescially on my lower abs) which needs to go so that's what I'm working on right now.
