Chic-fil-a restaurants are rolling out a new Spicy Chicken Sandwich on Monday (the first new sandwich they've introduced since 1989) and as a promotional offer they advertised that a limited number of people could go on their website and sign up for a reservation to try the new sandwich for free.
So my SO and I signed up, and selected a time for mid-afternoon today at the nearest location. The store manager sent us each an email with our invites, which we were instructed to print and bring with us to the restaurant.
When we went there today, we were greeted, graciously led to an area with special table-cloth topped settings and our order was taken. Not only did we get the free sandwich (which was pretty spicy but very tasty) but our choice of beverages (with refills), fries or an alternate side (who doesn't like their waffle fries?) and our choice of deserts, all on the house. We were waited on courteously and asked our opinions about the sandwich and the service several times. I walked out stuffed and very happy. But Chic-fil-a has always been a model of great service.
It was an exceptional experience for a fast food place, and I'm still a little surprised at the lengths they went to just to get us to try a new sandwich. But it worked and I'm going to get another one of those suckers (paying for it this time) very soon.
So I looked at
their website and it looks like there may be some reservations still available. If there's a Chic-fil-a in your area, you should check the site out and see if you can get in for the free sandwich and meal.
It definitely made my day!
