I hope you're not catching the fume effects that some folks near the coast are reporting. People are reporting that at best it smells like a gas station on a bad day and at worst it's making them feel lightheaded, nauseous and giving them headaches. So I hope you're not dealing with that, on top of the other stresses this disaster has put on people in your area. I'm in Houston, but it really doesn't look like it's going to impact us much here (says the guy who doesn't fish for a living.)
I really like your descriptions of your 3 year old nudist daredevil. He's lucky to have a mom who's entertained by his antics and who encourages his imagination.

I don't know, funerals are more for those left behind and how they remember the deceased. For my dad's funeral, one of his cousins sat next to the casket and told jokes. I'm sure it seems a bit odd, but it was perfect for everyone that knew him.

This sounds fantastic! I was already gonna try to have everybody get drunk. I wonder if I can put "Hire a stand-up comic for my wake" in my will?
You can be a crazy old cat lady, but don't be "crazy old lady with too many cats" lady. Every 3 or 4 years I read a news story about an old woman who has so many cats in her house that you can smell it down the street. I remember being horrified hearing about a woman in Milwaukee whose house had to be condemned and razed to the ground. I lived in Milwaukee at the time, and my horror was doubled because I'm severely allergic to cats. The thought first occurred to me then and is one of my worst reoccurring nightmares now that someone could move in near me, take in too many cats and make it so I can't breath outside my own house.

It's a toss up between swim trunks (with flames on it)paired with fireman boots and Black and Decker safety vest/ goggles or Mardi Gras beads and nothing else. Those are my son's daily uniforms.

You did say you were married, so I won't imagine YOU in Mardi Gras beads and nothing else. But you have given me an idea to pass on to my SO. LOL!
I'm glad your son gives you a break from the Gaga from time to time. Your tastes sound interesting, and your writing ... intelligent.
Welcome to this place. I look forward to your contributions.
