Maybe to the rest of the world, but everyone here is in a state of shock over this. We've been riled up for months now, but a lot of us were pretty positive about it. In the video I first posted its people singing O Canada arm in arm, pretty naive I guess, before they're rushed and one get gets trampled by the police. Canadian police were never perfect, I didn't have an image of them being so, we have our stories too of them tasering people to death and being racist, but thats always excused as bad apples. This is the first time in recent years, on such a large scale that corruption seemed so systematic, and brutal.

That and as individuals, even us here were affected. I'm still waiting to hear from family and friends, I don't know if they're okay, a lady I volunteer with had a family member in Toronto go missing a week ago and they only started looking for him today, saying they were way too busy with G8 to go looking.

Its a weird feeling. A lot of us are mad, but we're very shocked. Again, its not like we thought this country was perfect or anything, I mean more cop cars get set on fire during Stanley Cup finals, its just a feeling like...ever see that Twilight Zone episode, The Shelter, and at the end where the neighbors say they can have a party and everything will go back to normal? And then Bill says, "...Normal? ...I don't know what normal is. I thought I did once; I don't anymore."
