Personally, I really didn't think the direction of that movie was all that great. I only really liked 3 parts, The Mad Hatter reciting a snippet of the Jabberwocky poem, part of the Jabberwocky fight, because part of it was also kind of horrible and oddly animated, and the credits rolling because I knew it was time to leave.

Also, I thought it was odd, him calling it Alice in Wonderland, but combining both that book and Through the Looking Glass in the same movie. I think he'd have been better off doing a trilogy based on the Looking Glass Wars. But that also might be my heart yearning for another epic trilogy like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, and it probably would never hit such critical acclaim. It would've at least been a story that hasn't been told before on the big screen. And as much as I hate to give johnny depp credit, if it wasn't for him, the movie would've probably been more boring that it already is.

I dunno, he's always been a hit or miss director for me, seems like every other movie he directs is good or bad.

Vincent (1982)
Frankenweenie (1984)
Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985)
Beetlejuice (1988)
Batman (1989)
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Batman Returns (1992)
Ed Wood (1994)
Mars Attacks! (1996)
Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Planet of the Apes (2001)
Big Fish (2003)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Corpse Bride (2005)
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)
Alice in Wonderland (2010)

Personally I think "Big Fish" was the best movie he's ever directed. But everyone's got their own preferences.

Upcoming movies he's planning on Directing. 1 of which being a remake.

Dark Shadows (2011)
Frankenweenie (2011)
The Wizard of Oz (2013)
