A few years ago, my mom picked me up from school and asked gravely, "So, what are we going to do?" Observing my confusion, she continued, "You didn't hear?" I said I hadn't. "George Bush was assassinated. Dick Cheney is president."
Naturally, I freaked out. To this day, I have no idea what possessed my mother to play this trick.
