I don't doubt this at all.
I currently manage a non-profit telesales campaign. Despite the recession few people apply, and roughly 50% of those who apply and are offered a job quit before the first day. 15% of those I hired quit during the 1st week.
And honestly the money is good, and I'm not that demanding of a boss. OI'm cool with their schedules, will work with conflicts, and honestly care about the money they make, and do my best to provide a positive work environment (since the people we call are total d-bags)
Of all the workers I've hired, only 3 work the required hours that they all agreed to work when they signed up. Honestly I wonder if I should've been more of a dick around these folks. If I fired a couple of them maybe the rest would stop screwing with me...or maybe they'd all just bide their time till they found another job.
