If you want the top to have volume you'll need to have some shorter layers cut into the upper half of your hair. It looks ok, but to be honest just looks like a bad case of frizz, as the top of your hair is flat .
Exactly what sort of big hair were you going for? Is there a particular style /person's hair you wish to emulate? Siouxsie, Patricia Morrision ect?
