I didn't think that you were saying that.. and I'm sorry if it seemed like I was snarking at you.

I just hear it a lot - along with the "oh.. you poor thing, it must be so awful to have those disgusting men slobbering all over you!" It gets tiring.

The rhetoric gets tiring, not the slobbering.. the slobbering isn't actually a thing.
