I don't ever mean what I say to be offensive, and quite frankly, I feel very uncomfortable when it turns out that I managed to offend someone anyway. When that happens, I have no idea how to react and shoot from my hip so to speak. And sometimes, that manages to turn out badly. I really am not very good at this sort of thing.

I can understand this sort of thinking coming from a four year old but you're a fucking adult. You know sexism exists, you know racism exists, you may think you have no experience with them but you damn well know they are a thing. You cannot know that isms exist (even if you are privileged enough to think they aren't a huge deal) and still think that all people are being treated equally, those are two mutually exclusive things.
