NecromanticSunshine - You got bashed because you're claiming something didn't happen in a book you didn't read. How the fuck does somebody do that??
If Lestat bores you so much, why the hell are you reading any of the chronicles anyway, considering most of them are about lestat?
Back to the reason you got bashed:

And I just thought I'd say you're wrong. The story of Enkil and Akasha is in the vampire Lestat. Just not the entire story. That's where the myth starts. It's sort of like, in TVL, you learn the myth, and then in QOTD you learn the truth. Not to mention, its how Akasha got her boner for Lestat, from the very first time he played his violin for her.
Also, by skipping over the Vampire Lestat, you're missing out on how Lestat created Gabrielle, and Nikki, how he met Marius, Armand, Akasha, his band, how he became the owner of the Theatre de Vampir, all the secrets he tried keeping from Louis and Claudia - because the bulk of TVL actually takes place prior to his creating Louis, how he's not so much of an evil bastard as Louis' impression of him was at first, (course I guess that is a matter of opinion), and a shitload of other info that's vital to the entire trilogy.
Methinks your method of reading is not sound, and only seems to provide motive for your own confusion. If you stop reading the end of a story before reading the rest of it, and stop picking and choosing parts of a story to read, then maybe you'll be a little less confused, and in the future, be able to provide more acurate information.
Not bashing you, just trying to lend some helpful advice.
