The shame of this loss is that Wolfie has committed to her husband not to read all the things we are saying. Yesterday is supposed to be the end of it for her. And yet, yesterday, Wolfie gave me one of the greatest gifts any 'online friend' ever has, and suddenly, the loss is even more acute.
In the hope that WolfHusband might look in here to make sure she's not doing the same, I'll say just this to him:
First - Your wife treated you and your child with a rare measure of honor and discretion in her life online. I have always been impressed with her circumpsection and grace where marriage and motherhood are concerned. She is a remarkable woman in both capacities.
Second - You had better treat that woman with every ounce of respect, and bear on her all the formidable passion she deserves. She is an amazing, beautiful woman. Her giving up this forum - what it is being more than might be understandable to someone who's never truly experienced an online community - is a significant, serious sacrifice. This woman has removed herself from some very real FRIENDS for the sake of your relationship.
I hope that is the right thing to do.
I hope you are worthy of it.
Because you have taken something away from us, too.
And we will miss her.
