So you do watercolor-like stuff? I love that look... I'm hopeless at trying to get good at it, though. :P
Yes, first I messed up too with aqaurel. My whole paper started to crimp in ans so. But then I bought a notebook with aquarel-proof paper and things went much smoother. I had fun dropping a colored drip of paint and then moving it around into a shape. My paintings are really transparant and thats the part I most like.

That's pretty cool. I like working in color a lot, but recently I've been really fascinated by flats (in terms of illustration/cartooning), and making them work compositionally without a bunch of other effects and stuff. Bare-bones, textureless, pure color.

I know a lot of cartoonists use watercolors to color their comics, and they achieve amazing results with it.

What kind of stuff do you like to paint?

ko pilot and zerademark, good stuff.

I've never worked with oil paints, but I do fancy a bit of oil pastels...

It's a pomegranate.. on a plate covered in aluminum foil.

I've only really watched tutorials on you tube. I prefer to do my own thing though.

Jin - KittyCat is write... It is a drawing, since it's not paint, it's oil pastels... and I drew on sandpaper with them. ^_^

Duane - I highly recommend this book - http://www.amazon.com/Anatomy-Artist.../dp/078948045X

And it's not too expensive on amazon.com

Basically just study drawing the anatomy using that, as far as eyes and body parts go and learning proportions. It's a really helpful book and you'll never get proportions and limbs right unless you know the basic human anatomy and muscle structure. The only really good online tutorials, are ones for 3D modeling, etc...

Mr E Nigma: That is a really good drawing. Oil pastel are so messy when I use them. Really good job.

Miss Jin: The abstract style you're using looks familiar to the style most artist use in Suriname.

Duane, look up a few animes and see how they do it. Then try to imitate it until you mastered it. Then forget all about it and do it your way.

That is the way of the Kung Fu.
