Cutting some of the platform on a boot

Is it possible to take platform boots to a shoe tailor and ask them to make the platform shorter? I know Demonia platforms are ridiculously high and the platform are a bit bad quality but the boots are hot. I cant wear any platform boots that are not 2 1/2 inches tall, anything higher will just make me 'tip over' ( a.k.a falling on the train stairs, school stairs, on the side walk, etc, etc).

My advice is to either practice walking in platforms or don't buy them.

There are fake platforms. I've never seen them but my friend's told me about them. And, Demonia does make some shoes that look like platforms but with out the actual platform, instead they have have sort of a combat boot look. But, I think somehow making shorter platforms would be a good idea, I've wondering about it myself for a while now.
