It's quite odd that she did that, becaue I know that she's got a couple of recipe books that provide nutritious and tasty vegetarian options.

I have recently become a vegetarian, and I think it makes a hell of a lot of sense, on an individual basis. I don't believe in that whole converting-people thing. I never want to be the militant sort of vegetarian. If you personally believe meat is murder, don't eat meat. If you believe that eating meat is part of the circle of life, and humans are omnivores, not herbivores, then by all means, eat meat.

My health is excellent, and much better than most peoples', according to my doctor. And I know I'm not an exception.

Evidence that you're not an exception; I have been a vegetarian for 5 years and I often have way more energy than my friends who eat meat.

To the original poster.
Your choice in what you want to eat is yours to make. No amount of peer pressure is going to change that.
Do what is best for you.

Vegan for life <3
Don't eat dead bodies, don't wear animal products, don't buy into the lie.
Factory farming is killing the planet that we live on. So unless we're gonna bug out to Kepler we as a species need to wake the fuck up!
Meat is unnecessary, milk is unnecessary.
Compassion for other living, feeling beings .. regardless of species.
Maintenance and nurture of your home, the Earth. VITAL.
I could go on about this for an eon, but the truth is I'll be labeled.
Judged, labeled, ridiculed for telling the truth.
You all seem to be educated people, the truth is there to research for yourself.
The thing with the truth is that it's a bitter pill to swallow ..
For me personally, a helluva lot easier than a corpse o.O

I think that meat isn't unnecessary, but there a a lot of better ways to do it.
Lower intensity non beef one (chicken), vat grown (almost fucking there), and cricket.
I like my meat, but i also try to not eat super much...

As a species we aren't carnivorous in our design.
Meat consumption is causing illness in humans and the degradation of Earth.
Milk .. designed to nurture calves, not humans.
It's consumption is causative of illness in humans.
The billion $/£ dairy and meat industry is built upon lies.
Their revenue is reliant on consumers believing in the marketing they are fed.
All meat and dairy production evolves around speciesism, torture and death.
Animals are systematically r*ped, abused and killed for taste NOT necessity.
Trees .. an essential inclusion in the environment, yet mankind is pillaging the earth with deforestation .. to raise cattle o.O
Precious water, our life force - squandered to service an industry that force breeds life purely for consumption. Humans are dying, drought or unclean water borne illness the cause, and we're wasting precious water resources to manufacture our greed.
The world is mad, humanity is fucked up and I despair.
"Hell is empty and all the devils are here" ...

*Not a reply to, nor an 'attack' on any other ..
Simply, I just cannot consciously not share the truth.

I have to admit I'm not quite vege as I do eat a little meat now and again but I do eat lots of raw food, quorn, soy / nut milk, nut cheeses and the like.
We are by our nature omnivores and although traditionally humans were hunter / gatherers we did not eat a lot of meat until modern farming techniques were discovered. As such we do not need to eat meat, in fact producing meat is a very inefficient way of farming. There are also masses of fantastic vegetarian / vegan recipes out there so it doesn't even need to come down to taste!
Give it a try, what have you got to lose?
