The butterfly monument in my village ( the true story of Marry Ana Kecha )
There is a true story in the hungarian village in Serbia ( South Eastern Europe ) of Magyarkanisza where I live and grew up. The little girl and her family were neighbours of my grandparents. I have went to an american podcast however they asked the names to be changed to american names, and after they rejected the story as too graphic to be on american television.
Every local in our village knows the story of the little girl. She is on Wikipedia, but does not have her own page, just mentioned under the events of 1987 or 1988.
She was a serbian girl, and her parents were Serbs. Her father is still alive,by the name of Djuro Kecha.
One day,she was going to her grandmothers cottage in the woods. Her house was near the big park. She went alone,I guess to make a point with her parents that she can do it by herself. As she was walking, she stopped in the road in the big park to look at some paintings. The man selling the paintings,Laszlo Egete,a hungarian man, told her that if she likes these paintings he has more beautiful ones she can look at if she follows him into the bushes. She believed that she was going to see more paintings,so they went. There, amongst the bushes,he r.a.ped her and strangled her.A search was set out,and the man was executed in SUbotica, and her mother found the body. The family and the town has built a monument for her in Magyarkanjiza, the village where I live and where I grew up.
At least this is something, this is a way for people to hear this story.
